Daily photo challenge - Week 39 is complete

My first week back at work after eye surgery
went much better than I expected.
I thought my eyes would struggle
with looking at a computer screen all day long.
But thankfully I also had lots of good ol' fashioned paper work
to do so it wasn't too rough.

I was worried about what to take photos of this week.
After two weeks off, and having all day to think about my photo,
I was a tad worried about getting back into the routine of
getting up, going to work, picking up Sarah,
coming home, cooking dinner, going to bed etc five days in a row.
Where on earth was I going to find an opportunity to take a photo?
And of something I haven't already photographed before.

Well.......... thankfully I still managed to snap a pic a day.
So here is another week done and dusted.

Daily photo challenge - Week 38 is complete

Another great week.

1) Our rental property is (almost) sold!
An offer for the asking price came in
just 6 days after it went on the market!

2) I got to do the nana thing
and spend an afternoon with our grandson and daughter-in-law.

3) I managed to knock off all 42 things that were on my to do list!!
(Even the jobs I really didn't want to do!!)

4) And to top it off my eyes are feeling great!
They are looking better and feeling better.

 Yay!

Next week however.......
I have no doubt that reality will come CRASHING back as
I go back to the usual routine of
three people getting out the door before 6.50am,
a full day at work staring at a computer,
battling rush hour traffic,
picking up Sarah
(and stopping for a gossip and a quick drink!)
and heading home to cook dinner and get the evening chores done.
Oh goodie - I can't wait............

Here are some pics from this week.

22.9.12 - Cat's eyes

Daily Photo Challenge - week 37 is complete

What an awesome week……

Sure – it started with an operation on both eyes.
I was very nervous, but with the help of my awesome hubby
beside me the whole way I made it through just fine.
The recovery process is well underway and while my eyes don’t look pretty
(to say the least)
I’m feeling a little better bit by bit.
My eyes are still very sensitive to light so I can’t concentrate on one thing for too long.
So during this sick leave there is no blobbing on the couch watching TV all day, reading books or spending hours on the computer.

When I started these two weeks of sick leave my to-do list was very long.
I’m very pleased to say ¾ of it is crossed off already!
I’ve done lots of jobs around the house that had piled up,
caught up with friends,
walked the dog every day
and done a bit of retail therapy.

I’ve also managed to welcome Brian home
to a tidy home,
where the fire is going
and wifey and daughter are relaxed and happy.
(Sounds like a cliché from the 1950s!)

I’ve been able to spend so much more time with Brian and Sarah this last week
(despite them both still going to work and Wendy’s each day).
The mornings are so much more relaxed for everyone
as there are only two people to get out the door, not three.

And because I’m not working, all the evening/night time chores get done during the day instead.
I’ve actually been able to get down on the floor
with Brian and Sarah after dinner and play silly buggers with them
rather than worrying about the chores that I need to get done before I go to bed.

And to be honest, I didn't really know what to do with myself this morning (Saturday).
Usually I have a mountain of washing to get through and the grocery shopping to do.
But that was all done yesterday..........

I’ve got another week of leave to go –
more friends and family to catch up with, and more jobs to do around the house –
and then I will come crashing back to reality when I return to work.

But who cares about that right now………
I’ve got another week off before I need to think about that.

Daily photo challenge - Week 36 is complete

This week was a mission.
I had a lot on my mind
and to be quiet honest,
some days taking a photo
was the last thing I could be bothered doing.

But in saying that,
looking back,
I'm kinda pleased with the pics I captured this week.

This post is one photo short.
I'm heading off for surgery on both my eyes this afternoon
(one of the many things on my mind this week)
and I have no idea at all whether I will be up for taking a photo tomorrow.
I'll just wait and see how I feel.

Here are six days worth of pics from week 36......

7.9.12 - Pre-op self portrait

6.9.12 - Going solo

5.9.12 - My teenage treasures

4.9.12 - Imagination in action

Daily photo challenge - week 35 is complete

I learnt a lesson this week....

It's not a good idea to take a week's worth of pics
and not review them on the day.
This week I waited until it was time to post them......
and to be honest, I'd happily drop one or two of them if I could.

Alas...... this week is what it is.
Oh well.
At least there's a couple of pics to be proud of in this week's selection.
