Daily photo challenge - week 17 is complete

Another week done and dusted.....
Another week of new challenges.

On April 24 I hit the road to work a little early
and made an early morning stop up Mt Roskill.
I wanted to try and capture the amazing sunrise
that had been blinding me
as I drove to work the previous week or so.
The Mt was deserted
(except for Tamati Coffey and
the Breakfast weather crew doing their thing)
and I had a great time playing with settings and compositions.
Shame I had to stop taking photos and go to work.
I figure that considering the lengths I went to to get these photos
I'm allowed to post more than one pic
...so I'm posting three.

On April 25 I headed to Waikumete Cemetery in the hope
of capturing something of the special day that is
Anzac Day.
I'm posting three pics for this date too......
just because.

Daily photo challenge - week 16 is complete - SHAPES

This week's theme was shapes
A tricky one.....
I felt like time was often against me
and I struggled with theme related ideas.
So this week's pics feel more like
"a week in the life of us"
than anything else.
And it was a good, fun and busy week
with a couple of special milestones in the mix.

Daily photo challenge - week 15 is complete - HOME

This week's theme was home.

I had lots of ideas for this theme....
some worked, some didn't, some I din't get to try.

It certainly did make me stop and think
about what "home" is all about, and what it means,
how important it is,
how everyone's home is different and how it feels to be home.

Home..........and a few other things from this week:

14.4.12 - climbing trees at Browns Bay

13.4.12 - home - our piece of Laingholm paradise

12.4.12 - home made

Daily photo challenge - week 14 is complete - COLOUR

This week's theme was colour.......
I stuck to theme a couple of times.
But this week I would have been better
suited to a theme of
"don't have the time"
or
"don't have the motivation".
(read mood and inspiration)

But I made it to the end of the week....
Whew.

This week's pics........

Daily photo challenge - week 13 is complete

This week started with an AWESOME family holiday at Martins Bay.
 We had a blast.
Sarah had a great time- all she talked about was
"beach", "sand" and "playground".
Brian and I felt like "beach" and "playground" experts by the end of it all.

When it came to posting my pics from this holiday
I really did feel like I was spoilt for choice.
I had so much fun taking them
and thanks to the efforts of Brian and I behind the camera
we now have an amazing collection of holiday memories.
(And really - that's what photos are all about right? Memories?)

The rest of my photographic week was spent on three themes:
time, colour, food.

Be sure to check out our holiday pics here........

31.3.12 - the colourful treasures
of an almost-two-year-old

and the work I brought home
